    What Can You Write?

The stories and the articles you can write are only limited by your imagination, and in some cases, your ability to dig deep into a potentially good story or article. So, what can you write? Let's list them, shall we?

Your Life! No two people on earth have had exactly the same experience. Each one of us go through life and experience things which are unique to only ourselves. Your experiences could be materials for a good personal experience article. To start writing this type of article, you can brainstorm about unusual, unique, scary or even dangerous events in your life that you have experienced. From your list, think of an angle or an interesting way you can present your experience.

I'll Teach You How To! Do you have special talents, skills or knowledge? Why not write instructional articles based on those? This type of articles are commonly known as how-to articles and are regularly published in magazines because of their popularity to readers. How-to articles are usually written in a step-by-step manner, by using bulleted lists or number lists.

Profiles! These articles are called personality profiles or sketches whose subjects are more or less famous people -- celebrities, sports heros, politicians, or someone who is recognized in his field. For this type of article, try to look at your community and see if you have local celebrities.

Inspirationals! These are the inspirational, motivational and religious articles. If you're just starting to write, writing inspirational pieces for Church or religious magazines are a good way to break into the writing and publishing field.

Jaunts! Travel articles appeal to practically everyone, even to those who have never traveled. Have you been someplace where you found the sights, customs, food, habits, or culture different and interesting? If you like to travel, you can start taking down notes of where the best places to stay are, or where the interesting sights can be found, where to stay, and how to get to those places.

Special Interests! Some special interest subjects are parenting, child nutrition, home and garden, and health. There are certainly thousands of publications that cater to special interest subjects. If you are into gardening, you can write articles about this area. You can specialize on your area of interest and over time, you can establish yourself as an expert in that area.
