Why Write Inspirational Articles?
Inspirational articles are in great demand.
Life can be hard. People get hurt or lose direction. They come up against situations and problems unprepared, and in a fast-paced, pay-as-you-go society, they can be very alone with their pain.
Happily, more and more people are now looking deeply into the their lives on a quest for self-awareness and meaning. In doing so, they turn to religious and secular sources of wisdom for guidance, reassurance and explanations.
In the past, institutions claimed the prerogative of offering spiritual and psychological guidance. This has changed. People are now turning more and more to others who've walked the same path for support and insight.
The self-help movement has led us to recognize the validity of our personal experience and our ability to reach out and help one another. Each of us with some life experience, insight and the ability to share our thoughts in writing is capable of writing inspirational articles; articles that will help share the light and support others on their quest for meaning.
Writing inspirational articles means writing to change lives. It means writing to give support, to share insights gained through life experience, meditation, study or prayer. We can write inspirational articles from a religious or spiritual background or from secular insight. What matters is our ability to share that insight and help change other people's lives for the better.
Inspirational articles can change lives by informing, sharing, and understanding. We can write to explain confusing issues clearly. We can write how-tos that map the road for others. Sometimes we can help best by sharing personal episodes; by telling how we overcame problems. We can share the thoughts and insights that brought about healing or a change of viewpoint.
Many of us have become aware of our underlying, limiting beliefs and recognize them in others. Pointing out these limiting beliefs in a dispersonal and non-judgemental way, using examples to illustrate, can be the first step on a new path toward greater awareness for some readers. People in pain need to know what the problem is -- be able to name it -- before they can set about doing something to change it. It's that simple. You can help.
Other kinds of article may also take mystical, philosophical or scriptural texts as their starting point and use personal or fictional stories to illustrate or interpret them into modern language and situations.
As inspirational writers, we can encourage people by offering positive thoughts and examples of action. People trapped in black holes truly can't be expected to see the way out alone. Problems eat up their energy resources and thought capacity, especially if those problems involve worries about family and friends, or having to care for sick and dying relatives. In those situations, people have very little time or energy left over for deep, inspiring thought. Short inspirational articles can shine a light into that darkness.
If you're thinking about writing inspirationals, read some of your own favorite writers first. Model your initial attempts on them -- but don't plagiarize, use your own message. You'll find this approach gets you started and quickly helps you find your unique personal style.
Use your writing gifts to make your world a better place for everyone. Let the light shine through *your* words to inspire your world.
